Mountain Laurel

Join us in viewing our state flower in the beautiful mountains of Tioga County.  Come for a hike off the beaten path with our knowledgeable and friendly guides and view fields of laurel, hundreds of yards deep. We can take you to remote, little known places to get a true immersion in this fleeting botanical treasure. Bring your camera and get one-of-kind photo opportunities. We're offering several guided options from part day hikes all the way to full packages with lodging.

Peak laurel season is from mid-June through the first week of July.  

A Walk in the Laurel

Meet us in Ansonia, PA (12 miles west of Wellsboro) from where we'll shuttle you to a secluded location for the best laurel viewing around. Explore fields of laurel hundreds of yards deep with our friendly guides, and get some fabulous photos. Expect about a one to two hour experience. This hike is easy, suitable for novices.

Price: $25 per person, 2 person minimum - call for group discounts.

Biking the Laurel

Enjoy biking? We begin in Ansonia and shuttle you and your bikes to a great mountain location. From there, we'll guide you over forest roads and mountain throughways to our favorite laurel viewing areas. Your guide will keep you going in the right direction and provide educational information throughout your trip. Expect about a three to four hour experience. Moderate terrain, mostly downgrade.

Price: Starts at $50 per person, 2 person minimum - Bike rental not included, but available.  Call for group discounts.

Add an overnight component - let us shuttle right back to your lodging - where dinner is waiting! After your meal, head off to a comfortable bed in a country establishment near the PA Grand Canyon.

Biking the Laurel with one night of lodging starts at and dinner for two at the Coach Stop Inn starts at $120 per person, tax included and based on double occupancy.

Late Day Laurel Hike

You'll be shuttled to one of our favorite laurel viewing spots, where you can explore an incredible site filled with a sea of pink blossoms hundreds of yards deep. You'll continue on a professionally guided hike in moderate terrain through the hollow and fascinating ecosystems. Afterward, we'll cook you dinner over an open fire as you watch the colors of the landscape change and fade, allowing the stars to come out. Enjoy a night skies and sounds presentation by your guide. Finally, you'll return back to your starting point in Ansonia. Expect about a four to five hour experience.

Come on a Cedar Run Ride - We cover a lot of ground, traveling through beautiful country, passing vistas and fording streams, and exploring a diversity of ecosystems. Upon arrival at the Inn, we are treated to quaint and beautiful surroundings in this remote area deep in the PA Grand Canyon. The food is delicious, and the atmosphere relaxing. Package includes deluxe service, guide, meals, fully outfitted camp, and the Inn's overnight package. On all Cedar Run rides we travel more miles and explore a variety of ecosystems.

Mountain Laurel Cedar Run Ride – June 18-21st, 2009 - space is limited

On our June trip, we ride through areas abundant with our state flower, and take in breathtaking views. The summer trip offers opportunities to cool off by the water's edge, or even take a dip in Pine Creek.
