Primitive! |
|
You will learn how to start a fire with flint and steel, cook over a campfire, build a lean-to shelter, prepare wild foods, throw a tomahawk, and shoot a blackpowder muzzleloading rifle. Your guide and interpreter is an expert in frontier skills who uses these skills regularly and will explain both how to do them and how they were used in the history of our nation.
Bring your questions, camera, sleeping bag, and blackpowder rifle and knife (if you have one). Then, to deepen your experience, share your musical talents and storytelling around the campfire. This is an experience that you will not forget, and that may just change your life. Your Primitive! trip could be the first step you take to a whole new hobby or even a way of life. This adventure can be best enjoyed from Spring through Fall, but if you're really hardy, we'll do it in the winter for you. Come for 3 days and 3 nights to get the full effect of this step away from your everyday life, and remember, there's nothing virtual about this reality! Packages start at $535 per person based on a group of 4 for 3 days, with the first night spent at the historic Coach Stop Inn. (Rates based on double occupancy.) Call us 866-376-5068 for customized pricing. Call us about other group sizes! Click here to learn about adding a massage option to any of our packages!

Come relax with us far away from the cares of modern life, and step back in time to our Primitive! adventure. The setting is our remote Elk Camp deep in the heart of the Pennsylvania Wilds, over 2 miles from the nearest road. Here you'll stay comfortably in our canvas wall tents with wooden floors and cots, eat around a campfire under our log and canvas pavilion, and enjoy the great outdoors. This will set the stage for you to immerse in the life of a frontiersman, learning how they survived and enjoyed life in the wilds.
The area is full of scenic beauty and teeming with wildlife, including the spectacular free-ranging Pennsylvania elk herd. Deer, turkeys, black bear, and other animals are frequently spotted around our camp.
