If you are considering a trip with Nature Quest, don't think twice! We went on an Elk Trek in September '09 and it was incredible! We started the day with an excellent box lunch, (don't let the name "box lunch" fool you!) then headed out for our hike into Elk Country. Our guide was extremely knowledgeable, and not just about the elk either... he knew about everything from Japanese plants to acid mines and more! We had a campfire cookout which we assumed would be something like hot dogs and boy were we ever wrong! Chicken breast, rice pilaf, potatoes, salad, dessert... the works!
We visit the area frequently to see the elk, but never like this and we will ABSOLUTELY be coming back again during next years rut. We just can't say enough about our experience with Nature Quest! And a big THANK YOU to our guide!!! -Heather
Hi Brett! We had a BLAST! I was skeptical at first, but elk are pretty awesome animals. I want to thank you again. You did an excellent job with us, and I have to tell you, my boys think you are pretty cool. We all had a great time, and we are definitely planning to do it again next year.
Thanks for the pics. I already got a bunch of pictures developed, and all the three boys are taking them to school with them Monday to show all of their teachers and classmates.
We all learned alot too, It was really awesome!!!
Thanks alot!! Hergan Family
My husband and I just wanted to thank you for all of your help with our adventure this past weekend, 9/26/09. As we had discussed prior to, my husband and I have NEVER been on horses in our lives and this was the BEST adventure we have ever had!!!! Everyone at Nature Quest was great..... our guide was Jill and her daughter (sorry, can't remember her name) who gave the hour presentation/instruction beforehand was wonderful. I can't tell you enough how wonderful our experience was, except that we can't wait to come back and do it again!!!!!!! It was something we will never forget nor want to. I hope that you will relay our comments to Jill and the others!
FYI - We stayed at the Sherwood Motel because there was nothing available at the Coach Stop Inn and that was also very nice.
I have attached a couple photos that maybe you could pass along to Jill and her daughter.
Thank you again and hope to talk with you when we decide to come back!!! Hope you are having a nice trip back home.
Nancy & Mike Bryden
P.S. So, I've been back to work 1 day and have had people ask about our trip and they are interested in doing this as well - so, I've referred them to Nature Quest and have given them the website!!!!
We never expected the Coach Stop Inn to offer such high quality food, we particularly enjoyed dinner. You are fortunate to have in your employ Rachel, who is very knowledgeable and follows company policy to a "t". She knows her horses, their personalities and puts the rider on the proper steed. She gives you confidence on the ride. Also, Sara is so intelligent about equines that she really knocked our socks off! Obviously she is destined for a very bright future. Don reminds me of the wranglers out west, and his background affirms the fact that Nature Quest hires the very best talent and you are very serious about your business. -Mr. Miller
You exceeded all our expectations, your staff was wonderful and the food was fantastic. This was a perfect weekend. -Paul
Kylie's love of the environment and her surroundings was so refreshing. We got to ride some great places. And thank you, Jill for letting me change my plans and come back to the Coach Stop on Friday night. Your dedication to making this trip enjoyable and comfortable is greatly appreciated. Thanks also to Shannon and his true concern for me having an enjoyable experience - and the food was great! The people I met on Sunday also talked about their bike/hike they took on Saturday and spoke highly of their guide, Brett. I have not stopped talking about this trip and all the people involved. Good luck to all of you and hope to see you again! -Doreen, Paddle and Saddle trip
Thanks so much for making our first (but defiantly not last!) trip to Wellsboro memorable. The cottage is comfortable and cozy, and our horse trail ride guides were great!! The yummy crab legs at the Coach Stop Inn were an unexpected surprise!
We are already looking forward to our next visit! Allina "Our primary reason for the visit to the PA Grand Canyon was to get away for a few days of peace and quiet so our visit to your area was a perfect fit. The town of Wellsboro was a beautiful and quaint place."
George and Maureen Clifton, NY "If we could've stayed longer, that would've been even better. All aspects of the trip were wonderful. We were able to relax from a busy schedule, especially with having everything planned out for us. We will definitely do this again!" Tanisha and Theresa Phildelphia, PA "We had a wonderful time! The mountains are beautiful! Everyone was very nice." Darline New Castle, DE "I wish I had more time with our guide. Tioga is beautiful!" Micheal Holland, PA "We wanted to get away for a few days and this was close and affordable. We wanted something outdoors and that's exactly what we did; hike, saw waterfalls and great views. We will have to do this again with peak fall colors! The Coach Stop was nice and dinner was good. Special thanks to our guide, Audrey, Wow! We didn't expect a personal tour guide for just the 2 of us! Because of the wet conditions, she suggested we might want to do another hike rather than the scheduled one. We appreciated her suggestions and willingness to make changes. We hiked the Turkey Path and really enjoyed the hike, waterfalls and talking with our guide." Gary and Sandy Akron, OH "We thoroughly enjoyed our Gorge-ous Outlook excursion! Especially the hike. Audrey was very knowledgeable and the outlook at Snyder's Point was breathtaking! She was an excellent guide and we loved the hike." Margie North Huntingdon, PA "Had a superior dinner at the Penn Wells Hotel. The Coach Stop was wonderful... everything clean and top notch. Great shops in Wellsboro. The wagon ride was great and our guide and staff were very knowledgeable. A perfect get away." Lynn and Larry Horseheads, NY Journey: Birding for Beginners "I just wanted to thank you for all the arrangements you made for (us) for this past week. We really enjoyed our trip! The Wren's Nest was absolutely lovely and we had a great meal. I also wanted to tell you that if you talk to Jim Mucci, please tell him how much we enjoyed our canoe trip. He came prepared with excellent visuals as well as a very informative talk - he was wonderful! The Coach Stop Inn was lovely, and we both want to come back as soon as we can. We made arrangements at a Comfort Inn for Friday evening since we wanted to extend our trip, and it was no where near as nice, or as enjoyable an experience as the Coach Stop. Tioga County is very beautiful - I can't wait to experience it again." Sue Lancaster, PA Journey: Gorge-ous Outlook "Just wanted to take a few moments to tell you, how wonderful this weekend was. It was a lot better than we imagined it would be. The area is very beautiful, and our guide was very helpful and knowledgeable . She even went out of her way to show us an eagle! Everything from the hotel, the guided hike, and the dinner met or exceeded any expectations we both had. It was the perfect getaway weekend. Thanks, Tricha, for all your help." Skip B. Wyalusing, PA Journey: Xtreme Xperience, horseback "I just wanted to drop you a quick not to say thanks. We enticed my sister and niece up for an extended visit with the promise of a horseback ride. Friday we went on the afternoon ride. To say that it far exceeded our expectations would me the understatement of the century! Our guides were both competent and delightful. Thank you for helping create a wonderful memory. I'm sure that will be scheduling another ride and we will most certainly recommend you to others. Thank you ever so much!" Linda Day Trek: Elk Watch " Dear Jill,
We wanted you to know that the Elk Trek that we just completed was wonderful. You should know, however, that the highlight of the trek was not the elk but Merlin Benner! He was a wonderful guide and gave us much more than we expected of the tour. His commentary on the wildlife helped us understand their habits. Merlin's identification of fauna expanded our understanding of the plants of the region as well as which ones were edible! We still trust his id of the edibles over our novice sightings! Generally, he gave us insight into the area that we couldn't have gotten easily elsewhere. Furthermore, he was very congenial and gave us plenty of opportunity to fashion the trek to our desires. He was never rushed, nor did he rush us. He was most attentive to our needs making sure that we had breaks as needed and walking paces to meet our abilities - without drawing attention to it. You have a valuable resource in Merlin. I hope that you can continue to employ him." Bob and Hilary
"We have just returned from our first nature Quest Inc. Adventure - the trip was spectacular from start to finish. The meals at the Inn were prepared (we were surprised) in an exceptional manner in presentation, taste and consistency. The desserts were made to perfection to match the end of a wonderful day.
The staff were exceptionally friendly and knowledgeable. Our waterfall hiking guide, Lindsey, provided us with great detail on variety of foliage, trees, fossils by the water and supported her knowledge with books from her back pack. She was a delight and educated us on a level of our understanding. In addition to her knowledge her awareness of safety and the trail eased our apprehensions and questions if we could actually keep up and be safe in a terrain that we are not accustom.
Thank you very much for a wonderful weekend getaway! I will recommend your company to anyone looking for wonderful scenery, friendly knowledgeable people, and fond memories." Renee
